first-year council
The First-Year Council is responsible for supporting the 1L Class. Each Section elects two representatives to sit on the First-Year Council, with a President, Vice President, and four additional Senators selected from this group to sit as Senators of the Student Bar Association. Elections typically occur during the first and second weeks of classes, providing interested students with an opportunity to get involved early!
FYC Representatives plan social events for their Sections, like mixers and excursions around Charlottesville. Additionally, Representatives work together to execute large scale events for the Law School community, including historic events like Foxfield and the Halloween Carnival (pictured above). Participating in FYC is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys community building and organizing social events!
